Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, Chandigarh
Primarily known as the Chandigarh Rose Garden, Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is another popular rose garden in India located in Chandigarh city. It is an ideal place for people seeking rest, relax and admire the beautiful gifts of nature. One can come across here innumerable flowers along with roses radiating exquisite beauty and extraordinary charm. People gather here to spend a beautiful time with their family. There are numerous medicinal plants in this garden apart from roses. Spread over 30 acres of land, the garden consists of about 825 varieties of roses and above 32,500 types of therapeutic plants and trees. The garden remains open between 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM and there is no entry fee here.
Government Rose Garden, Ooty
Earlier known as the Jaylalithaa Rose Garden, this garden is situated on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Ooty. Positioned at a height of 2200 meters, the garden was set up to memorialize the anniversary of the Flower Show held in May 1995. It is one of the greatest tourist attractions of Ooty, which is spread over 10 acres of land. The flowers are positioned in five twisted terraces. One can see here the greatest collections of roses like mini roses, hybrid tea roses, ramblers, black-green roses and many other unique varieties. Rose Garden is maintained by the horticulture department of Tamil Nadu government.
